John,
We’ve been ringing the alarm bell for a while about anti-abortion disinformation in public schools, particularly “Meet Baby Olivia”, a video anti-abortion leaders claim teach fetal development, but really is propaganda for anti-abortion lies and inflammatory rhetoric debunked by numerous medical professionals. [1]
Give today to stop this.
Meanwhile, other anti-abortion leaders publicized baseless allegations against staff members in a Virginia high school for purportedly facilitating and funding abortions for students. [2]
Wild claims like this are par for the course with the anti-abortion movement. We’re holding them accountable.
As suspected, there was no evidence to support these claims. Not only that, but according to a statement from the school’s Superintendent the allegations “are not only untrue but based largely on statements that were misinterpreted, mistranslated, taken out of context, or even in some cases knowingly fabricated” and “no credible evidence of any actual wrongdoing by staff or administrators” was found (emphasis theirs). [2]
Untrue. Fabricated. No credible evidence. Sound familiar? Donate today to hold feet to the fire.
This kind of anti-abortion attack not only wastes time and energy of the school district but actively undermines the safety and well-being of students, faculty, and staff.
This will not continue. We’re standing up to stop it. Join us.
Sincerely,
Erin Matson
