Good morning Young Democrats!

I hope you are as excited as I am for CYD’s upcoming 2026 Endorsing Convention in San Francisco, February 20-22, 2026!

IMPORTANT DEADLINES: You can still register now ([link removed]) before late/on-site registration pricing begins February 1st, but I need to remind you to book your hotel room in CYD’s room block ([link removed]) before we sell out, and remind chapter leaders to charter your CYD chapter ([link removed]) before the February 9th chartering deadline. Also, per CYD bylaws ([link removed]) , candidates for CYD statewide officer postions including Regional Director candidates must file their intent to run by the end of January 21, 2026. Please keep reading below for more important details!

You can now view the tentative schedule for CYD’s Convention ([link removed]) . We are deeply thankful for our generous sponsors including the National Union of Healthcare Workers, United Domestic Workers/AFSCME Local 3930, Xavier Becerra for Governor 2026, and Teamsters Local 396.

The San Francisco Young Democrats are hosting a Welcome Reception co-hosted by Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi at the historic Hibernia Bank Building. I will be moderating a panel discussion featuring three powerful young progressive women influencers on Using Social Media for Activism, numerous CYD caucuses and committees will meet, and there will be general session meetings for CYD, CA College Democrats (CCD), CA High School Democrats (CAHSD), and CADEM packed with guest speakers in advance of the 2026 elections, in addition to lots of fun events and hospitality suites. 2026 CHAPTER CHARTERING - DUE FEBRUARY 9, 2026: All Young Democrats chapter and caucus leaders in California must charter or re-charter their club/caucus to be properly chartered with the California Young Democrats and be eligible to vote in CYD elections and meetings. All CYD chapters are required to recharter for 2026. CYD has extended the deadline for 2026 Chartering to February 9, 2026, but that is fast approaching and many chapters have yet to submit the necessary chartering information. 2026 CYD OFFICER ELECTIONS & CONVENTION OFFICIAL NOTICE: The 2026 California Young Democrats Convention will take place in San Francisco, CA alongside the California Democratic Party (CADEM) Convention on February 20, 2026, to February 22, 2026. Meetings will be at Moscone Center West, Rooms 3009/3011, located at: 4th St. & Howard St., San Francisco, CA 94103. Pursuant to CYD Bylaws ([link removed]) , CYD will hold CYD Officer elections for all CYD Officer positions and approve 2026 chartering applications. All candidates for CYD Officer positions, including CYD Regional Director candidates, must file their intent to run by emailing CYD Secretary Rae Seneff (mailto:[email protected]?subject=CYD%20Officer%20Election%3A%20Intent-to-run&body=) at least 30 days before the election, by end of day Wednesday, January 21, 2026. All members of duly chartered CYD chapters are eligible to run for CYD Officer positions.

Finally, I wanted to share details and the application form ([link removed]) for the Democratic National Committee (DNC) When We Count Fellowship, a newly created paid program to “train young supporters to organize and register Democratic voters on-the-ground in their local communities.” This paid, part-time fellowship program is open to individuals age 18 to 29 and the first cohorts will launch in Arizona and Nevada starting in Spring of 2026. The DNC says this program may expand to other states, so interested individuals in other states are encouraged to apply.
