John,

Utah’s courts struck down a gerrymandered map that was forced through by Republicans — ordering the state to instead use a fair map that gives Utah voters the chance to be heard.

But extremist politicians are not giving up the fight. In fact, they are planning to appeal the state court’s decision — all so they can keep their stranglehold on the state’s congressional maps and cherry-pick their voters.

Even in states where the fair maps movement has prevailed, our extreme opponents are not taking their ball and going home. That’s why we have to be prepared to fight for fairness every day until votes are cast in the 2026 midterms.

Donate to ensure the NDRC can continue our work protecting fairness in states across the nation. Your support powers our movement to mobilize grassroots support, educate voters, and hold lawmakers accountable. [[link removed]]

Utah voters have spoken loudly and clearly that they oppose the kind of partisan gerrymandering that Republicans are trying to force through. In fact, Utahns approved a ballot initiative in 2018 to curb partisan gerrymandering.

Nevertheless, Utah Republicans steamrolled through a new congressional map that sliced and diced Salt Lake County into four districts, preventing this more urban region from having fair representation.

It’s just another example of the contempt that these anti-democracy extremists have for their own voters. And we can’t let it go unanswered.

Power the NDRC’s work for fair maps where it matters most. Help us push back against any and all attempts to rig our elections in 2026 and beyond. [[link removed]]
