Friend, 

I spent 26 years in uniform. I practiced military law, I served as a federal prosecutor, and I taught the Law of Armed Conflict to the next generation of officers.

My entire career was dedicated to defending the post-WWII world order—a system built on the blood and sacrifice of the "Greatest Generation" to ensure we never saw a global catastrophe like that again.

I have said from the beginning. I call balls and strikes how I see it. I will call out Democrats and Republicans. Right now, I am watching the President rip that order apart for no reason at all. And it pisses me the hell off.

Between the reckless threats to take control of Greenland and Canada by force and the bullying of our European partners with punitive tariffs, we are turning our closest allies into enemies.

When we treat our NATO allies as "aggressors" and threaten our neighbors with military action, we aren't showing strength. We are showing a total lack of discipline that destabilizes 80 years of hard-won peace. This rhetoric makes the world more dangerous, our economy more volatile, and our service members more vulnerable.

But here is what truly grinds my gears: The silence from the U.S. Senate.

Congress is supposed to be the check on a lawless Executive. But the current crop of politicians—including my opponent, Mike Rounds—has completely abdicated their duty. Rounds is a senior member of the Armed Services Committee. He knows exactly how dangerous this rhetoric is. He knows it violates our treaties and our values.

Yet, he stays silent. He chooses his party line over the peace and security of this nation.

We are lurching toward a precipice. If we don’t send serious people to Washington who actually understand the law and have the backbone to rein in this recklessness, we are going to wake up in a world where America is isolated and the "Rule of Law" is a memory.

I am running as an Independent because I don't answer to a party boss or a billionaire's ego. I answer to the oath I took. In the Senate, I will fight to reclaim its authority over war and peace before it's too late. I need you to stand with me today.
