I want to tell you about the first bill I ever introduced in Congress. And I’ll be honest: it’s about an issue that doesn’t get as much attention as it once did — but it’s more important than ever.

It’s called the Aquatic Biodiversity Preservation Act — and it would be a huge step forward in the fight against climate change.

I’ll tell you more about my bill in a second, but first: If you already know that climate change is an existential threat to our planet — whether MAGA Republicans choose to believe it or not — will you chip in to help me take this climate message directly to Washington?

Protecting our planet should not be a partisan issue. All of us want to live on a healthy, clean, livable planet — and leave one behind for their kids and grandkids.

So why exactly are MAGA Republicans so determined to leave our children a planet that has been devastated by drought, floods, and the consequences of climate change?

I won’t let the GOP’s indifference for our environment — and our children’s future — stop me. That’s why my first bill, the Aquatic Biodiversity Preservation Act, is a bold — and necessary — piece of legislation.

Under my bill, scientists and researchers would finally be given the necessary resources to craft conservation strategies, preserve genetic diversity, and protect coastal natural resources from the immediate consequences of the climate crisis.

Look, I know the climate crisis isn’t getting as much attention as it once did — and that’s a shame. But I’m determined to change that. Through this bill, and throughout this critical reelection campaign.

I will NEVER apologize for making climate change a top priority in Congress. If you think that’s the mindset Democrats need to have right now, I hope I can count on your support. We have a big fundraising deadline coming up, and the only way we can make progress on this issue is by sticking together and winning this race.
