Mastriano, Reichard Announce $2.4 Million in Grants for Community Projects in Franklin County

 

WAYNESBORO — Sen. Doug Mastriano (R-33) and Rep. Chad Reichard (R-90) announced that the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) has awarded $2.4 million in grant funding for projects in Franklin County.

 

“Investing in infrastructure is investing in the future of Franklin County,” Mastriano said. “These projects will strengthen the foundation of our communities by improving essential services and enhancing transportation networks. I’m proud to work alongside Rep. Reichard and the Commonwealth Financing Authority to deliver these resources that will help families, businesses and local governments thrive for generations to come.”

 

“These grants are strategic investments in Franklin County’s economic future,” Reichard said. “Reliable water and sewer systems and modern transportation infrastructure are critical to attracting employers, supporting existing businesses and ensuring our communities can grow responsibly. This funding helps lay the groundwork for long-term job creation and private investment.”

 

The following grants were awarded through the PA Small Water and Sewer Program:

 

  • $337,500 to Greencastle Borough for phase I of a wastewater collection system replacement project.

  • $425,000 to the Mont Alto Municipal Authority for well development.

  • $64,600 to Quincy Township for the bulk water station project.

  • $100,000 to the Washington Township Municipal Authority for the Cold Springs pumping station modernization and rehabilitation project.

 

The PA Small Water and Sewer Program awards grants to assist with the construction, improvement, expansion or rehabilitation or repair of a water supply or sanitary sewer system.

 

The following grants were awarded through the Multimodal Transportation Fund:

 

  • $400,000 to Antrim Investment Group, LLC for the construction of Helens Drive and related pedestrian infrastructure in The Heritage Hills Retirement Community in Antrim Township.

  • $273,037 to Waynesboro Borough to install streetlights along Walnut Street.

  • $550,000 to Montgomery Township to construct a connector road between Corner Road and Fort Loudon Road (PA Route 75).

  • $205,000 to Washington Township to complete preliminary engineering for a .74-mile extension of Washington Boulevard from the SR 997 intersection to SR 316.

 

The Multimodal Transportation Fund provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to the residents of the commonwealth.

 

The CFA is an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development which administers Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus packages.
