The Houston Chronicle just reported what many of us already know: Beto
isn’t stepping back—he’s stepping in to do the hard, on-the-ground work

After becoming the closest Texas Democrat to winning statewide office in
more than 30 years, Beto saw firsthand what was missing. Too many Texans
weren’t registered, too many eligible voters weren’t meaningfully engaged,
and too much organizing happened too late to move the needle.

Beto founded Powered by People to change that.

We’re out registering new voters across Texas long before an
election—especially young people and Texans who have been ignored by the
political system for far too long. But we don’t stop there. We’re building
a hyper-personalized organizing program that keeps voters engaged,
informed, and motivated all the way through when they turn out to cast
their ballot.

That means real, relational organizing, not blast texts or last-minute
reminders. It means training volunteers to have one-on-one conversations.
It means meeting voters where they are, listening to their concerns, and
staying in touch long after they register.

This is the kind of infrastructure that works, and it’s the kind that
