Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington, DC

On Wednesday, January 21, Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington, DC (PPMW) will join Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and other allies for a community-focused Care Continues event.  

This event is being held to acknowledge the threats targeting vital sexual and reproductive health care and to promote sharing resources, highlighting local organizing efforts, and galvanizing DC partners and residents by connecting through storytelling and community.  

The event will include a community fair with informational resources, an opening panel discussion, storytelling circles (also known as “house meetings”), and the creation of community care baskets. Washington, DC; Maryland; and Virginia residents have been disproportionately affected this year by federal layoffs, a takeover by the National Guard, ICE agents conducting enforcement actions, SNAP cuts, and many other harmful actions. This event will serve as a reminder that DC community members will continue to organize and that care continues.
