John, I know you’ve got a lot on your plate right now, but I wouldn’t be reaching out if it wasn’t about something truly near and dear to my heart.

Watching the news cycle move a million miles a minute can tire the heck out of you. It’s at times like this that I reflect on the values instilled in me as a young boy growing up in Georgia.

My grandad – God bless him – taught us a few lessons as kids that I’ll never forget: 

• Family matters over everything

• Stay humble and kind, even when it’s difficult

• Treat others as you wish to be treated

• Always respect your elders

• Be grateful for this country

Now I’m not saying I’m perfect, I’m far from it.

But imagine if everyone tried their hardest to live by these values?

It’s hard to imagine that if that were the case, we would see nearly the amount of crime sweeping our streets, violence espoused by some of our leaders, and constant indoctrination of our youth. It’s really just sad.

To keep it frank, that’s what started this whole career in politics of mine. Remembering the lessons my grandad once taught me, relaying them to my grandchildren, and now earnestly working to re-embrace them in our country.

It’s not often I get to open up and share information about my upbringing and what it’s brought me to today. So I’m incredibly grateful for you taking a couple of minutes out of your day to listen to me.

This year is going to present the biggest challenge of my life. This race will be no joke. I’m counting on the incredible support of patriots like yourself to help us make history and make it over the finish line.
