These are all things that Prince, a six-year-old girl from Rwanda, struggled with once she started school. She was born with strabismus, which causes the eyes to look in different directions.
If that didn’t make school hard enough, Prince’s classmates also teased her because of her eye condition.
But everything changed when Prince arrived at Kibagabaga Hospital in Kigali, Rwanda. As part of Orbis International’s Flying Eye Hospital project last year, she received corrective surgery on both of her eyes! It’s thanks the generous support of people like you that Prince’s story has a happy ending.
Now, this little girl can grow up without feeling different from her siblings or other children. She can learn to read and succeed in school.
