The Amazon rainforest on fire. Clouds of smoke and bright orange flames are visible.

John,

SOS: The Amazon rainforest just suffered its worst fire season in more than two decades. Fires tore through 3.3 million hectares of precious forest in 2024, releasing unprecedented levels of carbon pollution. And right now, the European Union is on the verge of making it even worse.

EU member states just narrowly greenlit the EU-Mercosur trade deal — a destructive agreement that would turbocharge agricultural expansion, reward land grabbers, and lock in more deforestation across South America.

It would be a death sentence for the Amazon, but the good news is the European Parliament still has the power to block the deal!

The final vote is just WEEKS away so we have to move fast. We’re planning a massive, all-out campaign across Europe to mobilise the public and overwhelm key lawmakers with ads, polling, and protests to stop the deal — but we urgently need your support to make it happen.

Will you rush a donation to help save the Amazon and forests everywhere before it's too late?

The trade deal between the EU and Mercosur (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay) would allow cheap beef, soy, wood and other products grown from the Amazon’s ashes to be fast-tracked into Europe, fattening corporate pockets on both sides.

Negotiations on the deal have dragged on for decades, stalled by countries like France warning that their farmers would be undercut by cheap imports from nations with lower costs and looser rules on the environment, health, animal welfare, pesticides, and labor. Until last week, when countries greenlit the deal.

The vote was so razor-thin it exposed a deep political crisis: six countries opposed or refused to support the deal, and the “yes” votes scraped by with one of the smallest qualified majorities ever.

Now, the European Parliament is our last line of defense. We have a real chance of blocking this deal but we have to move quickly. If all of us chip in now we could:

  • Lobby and pressure key MEPs, including targeted advertising in their constituencies;
  • Mobilize communities across the EU, organizing demonstrations and coordinated actions;
  • Run polling in swing countries to prove just how politically toxic this deal has become;
  • Unleash a media storm, making EU-Mercosur impossible to quietly rubber-stamp.

We can still stop this deal — but only if we move fast.
