January 19, 2026

Dear Georgian,

House Republicans are continuing to push forward through appropriations to ensure all aspects of our government are funded. We are on track to pass all 12 appropriations bills — BELOW current CR spending levels.

Two weeks ago, the House passed the Commerce, Justice, Science; Energy and Water Development; and Interior and Environment Appropriations Act of 2026. This appropriations package cuts spending, lowers costs, and increases accountability.

Included in the bill are provisions that invest in geothermal and other reliable energy sources to create jobs and lower costs for families, strengthen the electric grid to prevent attacks that would spike prices and threaten reliability, and eliminate Biden-era woke energy programs and climate slush funds to stop waste.

The legislation also refocuses federal spending on public safety, infrastructure, and essential services rather than ideological pet projects.

Last week, we focused on the Financial Services and General Government and National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Appropriations Act of 2026, which combats China, saves American tax dollars, and strengthens our country.

As always, my staff and I are here to help. If you need assistance with a federal agency or have comments or concerns to share with me, please do not hesitate to call my Warner Robins, Tifton, or Washington, D.C. offices. Passing Appropriations

Last week, the House of Representatives passed the Financial Services and General Government and National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Appropriations Act of 2026.

Included in this appropriations package was a massive win for MANA Nutrition in our district. For the first time ever, American made RUTF has a specific funding directive. The text of the legislation includes $300 million for RUTF funding and includes a specific provision reinforcing the House funding directive for RUTF.

This important legislation also ensures that American tax dollars serve American interests. It ends funding for nations and institutions that undermine U.S. security, aligns foreign aid with U.S. national security priorities, and it slashes wasteful United Nations funding with double-digit cuts and reforms that will bring real accountability.

Additionally, the bill counters the Communist Party of China by protecting American students, banks, research, and supply chains from the Chinese Communist Party’s influence.

This appropriations package cuts wasteful spending, improves oversight of unused COVID-era funds to stop fraud and abuse, and it supports capital access so businesses can grow and create jobs.

General Tom Carden Confirmed as Vice Chief of the National Guard Bureau

General Tom Carden was confirmed, last week, as the new Vice Chief of the National Guard Bureau after far too long of a delay.

Gen. v Carden previously served as the Deputy Commander, U.S. Northern Command, and Vice Commander, U.S. Element, North American Aerospace Defense Command. Carden has also served as The Adjutant General, Georgia National Guard, from 2019-2024.

He is a great leader, a great Georgian, and a friend. He will continue doing great work in this new role.

Congratulations, Gen. Carden!
