Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Dr. King reminded us that dignity wasn’t something to be earned. It is something inherent in every single one of us, regardless of background. He reminded us that respect isn’t weakness and that justice doesn’t come from silence or fear, but from ordinary people deciding to stand up for one another.

What we’re seeing across the country makes me and many families I talk to uncertain about the future. Families are feeling squeezed, people are afraid to leave their homes, and communities feel unheard.

These are scary times, but I see Dr. King’s legacy in strangers looking out for another, neighbors helping neighbors, and communities rising in solidarity. He believed progress was possible but only if we refused to look away from injustice and refused to lose sight of one another’s humanity.

That belief is at the heart of why I’m running for Congress. Not to divide, not to inflame, but to make sure our community is treated with the dignity it has always deserved.

Thank you for being part of this community, and for believing in a future rooted in respect, justice, and hope.
