Friend,
60 years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. rejected the idea of
complying with an unjust world. He helped mobilize millions to face
the uncomfortable truth of the status quo — and to turn distress into
defiance and power.
Today, as we did then, we are witnessing brutal oppression in our
neighborhoods and on our screens. That’s why we're gathering this
weekend as Jews and allies to meet the demands of the political moment
together.

for the national call, “Using Our Power in 2026: Strategies to Resist
Fascism and Stay Safe,” this Sunday, January 25.

Dr. King asked us to not accept — to be “maladjusted” — to the
harms of racism, white supremacy, and oppression.
Today, we refuse to adjust ourselves to ICE kidnapping our
neighbors. We refuse to adjust ourselves to police forces terrorizing
Black neighborhoods. We refuse to adjust ourselves to antisemitic and
white nationalist attacks that threaten Jews and all of our
communities.
Join us this weekend to learn how to slow and stop Trump’s
cruelty, including with mass mobilization and disciplined
noncooperation.

In Dr. King’s honor, and as our ancestors have before us, we take
pride in our defiance. We make the change we need, for our generation
and generations to come.
In solidarity,
The Bend the Arc
