Protestors Storm Church in Minneapolis, ‘Hunting’ for ICE Agent

Leaving mothers terrified, kids screaming. At what point do Minnesotans at large reach a collective sense of, “This protest has gone too far”? Scott McClallen at Townhall: This morning, a group of anti-ICE protestors stormed what appears to be Cities Church in Minneapolis because they believed that a church employee worked for ICE, according to videos posted to social media (Townhall). The church was SBC—Southern Baptist Convention. Andrew Walker, a leader within the SBC: I have it on good authority that protesters were screaming in the face of youth at the church and following (and shouting at) young moms as they were trying to buckle children into to their vehicles to flee…. This is utterly despicable. There is no constitutional right to protest a private religious assembly. What Governor Walz and Mayor Frey have unleashed in their regime of disorder and lawlessness is shameful. God bless Cities Church (Walker; Walker). When do protestors lose their right to protest? Protesting is an expression of freedom of speech, which every government should protect. Where protests are peaceful, governments have no legitimate claims against protesters. Where protests turn violent, protesters have no right to claim infringement of their rights. If storming a church is Exhibit A of protestors sacrificing their right to protest, this beating of a critic of Islam can serve as Exhibit B: Anti-Islam activist Jake Lang is surrounded by a far-left mob who pull him down from a ledge and beat him severely (Ngo).

US Attorney Bill Essayli: ‘It’s unlawful to impede federal agents’
In an additional outworking of the point above—what type of protest is protected and what is not, our US Attorney in California Bill Essayli responds to coordinated efforts to tip off people to federal law enforcement operations. Nick Arama at Red State: Democratic Rep. Jimmy Gomez (CA-34) was reporting ICE activity and encouraging other people to report their activity to the phone number he posted. That’s trying to help people avoid federal law enforcement. First Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, Bill Esssayli, had a great reply that everyone should take to heart: A friendly reminder that the public has a First Amendment right to call the number below and provide inaccurate information. It is unlawful to impede federal agents, but there is no prohibition on impeding radical organizations working to harbor criminal illegal immigrants. Dial away. If everyone calls in and gives all kinds of inaccurate information, it will basically incapacitate that line and foil the agitators. It was clear that many on X intended to do just that. So Gomez’s effort is going to fail badly, and that phone number is going to be very, very busy (Red State).

Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon Launches Investigation in Storming of Church
From Harmeet Dhillon: The @CivilRights is investigating the potential violations of the federal FACE Act by these people desecrating a house of worship and interfering with Christian worshippers (Dhillon). The FACE Act of 1994 was created to prohibit: (1) intentionally injuring, intimidating, or interfering with, or attempting to injure, intimidate, or interfere, any person by force, threat of force, or physical obstruction because that person is or has been, or in order to intimidate such person or any other person or any class of persons from, obtaining or providing reproductive health services; (2) intentionally injuring, intimidating, or interfering with, or attempting to injure, intimidate, or interfere, any person by force, threat of force, or physical obstruction exercising or seeking to exercise the First Amendment right of religious freedom at a place of religious worship; or (3) intentionally damaging or destroying the property of a facility, or attempting to do so, because such facility provides reproductive health services, or intentionally damaging or destroying the property of a place of religious worship (Congress).

1,500 Troops on Standby as Trumps Weighs Invocation of Insurrection Act
The conditions that would merit such an action continue to exist. Indeed, the protestors have become increasingly violent. Wall Street Journal: About 1,500 active-duty soldiers have been placed on alert for a potential deployment to Minnesota in response to widespread protests over immigration enforcement in the state, according to four defense officials. The Pentagon has ordered the soldiers from the U.S. Army’s 11th Airborne Division to prepare to deploy, meaning they are ready to quickly move to Minnesota if the order is given, three of the officials said. The move is “precautionary” in case the unit is needed, one of the defense officials said…. The Pentagon placing soldiers on standby “was clearly designed to intimidate the people of Minneapolis, and here’s the thing: We’re not going to be intimidated,” Frey said. Gov. Tim Walz has also mobilized the Minnesota National Guard, a state agency said in a social-media post on Saturday. The post said the troops hadn’t yet been deployed to city streets but indicated the guard would be used to help local law enforcement, including supporting peaceful protesters (Wall Street Journal). Stephen Miller is unequivocal: So ICE—over and over and over again—goes out into the community to find and arrest these fugitives who have since committed additional egregious crimes after they were released by Fry and Walz and Ellison. These are acts of insurrection against the laws of the United States and against the sovereignty of the United States (Daugherty).

24 Hours of Hell in Iran; Over 16,000 Killed; ‘The worst daily massacre since the Holocaust’
It’s too soon to say the mullahs and the murderous military units operating under them have quieted the counter-revolution, but there is no question that they killed mercilessly in an effort to do so. The new level of hell began on January 8, about 8:30 p.m. Tehran time, when the government shut down internet across the country. Wall Street Journal: This time, the regime forces were ready to play a more lethal role in quelling the protests. Paramilitary Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the voluntary Basij militia in plainclothes were deployed in large numbers across the country, often armed with Kalashnikov assault rifles. In one instance in west Tehran, security forces were seen with a heavy machine gun mounted on a pickup truck, according to footage verified by Storyful,  which is owned by Journal parent News Corp…. The fierce crackdown by security forces has succeeded in forcing demonstrators off the streets in some cities, with some residents reporting an eerie quiet after days of escalating violence. Families have been burying their dead—as best they can (Wall Street Journal). Times UK: The Sunday Times has obtained a new report from doctors on the ground, which says at least 16,500 protesters have died and 330,000 have been injured, most of them in two days of utter slaughter in the most brutal crackdown by the clerical regime in its 47-year existence…. “This is a whole new level of brutality,” said Professor Amir Parasta, an Iranian-German eye surgeon and medical director of Munich MED (Times). Dr. Eli David: This is the worst daily massacre since the Holocaust, and the world is silent… (David).

Trump: ‘It’s time to look for new leadership in Iran’
The clear message from the president came in an interview with Politico: President Donald Trump on Saturday called for an end to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s 37-year reign. “It’s time to look for new leadership in Iran,” Trump told POLITICO, as widespread protests calling for an end to the regime appear to have waned…. “Leadership is about respect, not fear and death,” Trump added…. Trump went further in personal terms, denouncing Khamenei and the Iranian system of governance. “The man is a sick man who should run his country properly and stop killing people,” Trump said. “His country is the worst place to live anywhere in the world because of poor leadership” (Politico). Jason Brodsky, president of UANI—United Against a Nuclear Iran: This is an unprecedented statement for an American president to make. President Trump just called for regime change in #Iran (Brodsky).

Virtual Silence on Iran Atrocities From UN, Human Rights Groups
Pennsylvania Senator Dave McCormick (R): Where is all the outrage from our college campuses and so-called “human rights” groups? The Iranian regime has shut down internet access for more than 200 hours to brutally repress its own people. In doing so, it has killed and arrested thousands, and disappeared and tortured countless others—all to silence dissent in a desperate attempt to cling to power. Yet there is troubling silence from our college campuses and human rights groups (McCormick). McCormick was commenting on research from Jewish Onliner, where, for example, Doctors Without Borders put out 16,901 posts from October 7, 2023 to January 16, 2026: 950 were about Israel’s war provoked by Hamas and zero were about Iran. Similarly, the UN Humans Rights Council had 263 posts on Israel/Gaza and two on Iran (Jewish Onliner).

Iranian TV Hacked: Shah’s Son Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi on Air for 10 Minutes Across Nation
The freedom lovers are not giving up yet. New York Sun: Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi entered millions of homes in Iran Sunday night after hackers penetrated state TV with a message from the late shah’s son urging protesters to remain resilient and warning the military to protect the nation. With the Internet reopening but still mostly blocked, hackers managed to penetrate Iran’s state owned television via satellite for 10 minutes, sending video of anti-regime protesters and a message from Mr. Pahlavi — son of the Shah who was overthrown in 1979 — that “help is still on the way” into millions of homes across the country…. Technology is proving to be one of the most potent forces in the battle for control of Iran. It has also proven to be the sword that cut the latest attempt to overthrow the Islamic regime. Iran’s imposed shutdown of the internet has seemingly stalled action on the ground as demonstrators find themselves unable to communicate and organize with one another, and facing death if caught trying (New York Sun). Clip of Reza: (David; Neo).

Today: World Economic Forum Begins in Davos, Switzerland
If any single gathering would be the embodiment of the global elite and the aspirational intent of the globalist left, it would have to be Davos. Indicative of where their moral compass it, WEF invited Iranian foreign minister. He’ll speak on Tuesday (WEF). The group UANI—United Against a Nuclear Iran—has urged WEF to rescind the invitation: The Iran watchdog group United Against Nuclear Iran sent a letter to WEF President Borge Brende on Friday urging the group not to invite any officials from the Islamic Republic of Iran. The group tells Fox News Digital that WEF did not respond to the letter, and instead the forum added an interview with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to the summit’s schedule on Sunday (Fox News). Good backgrounder on WEF from Larry Taunton: The WEF is a stateless organization where pretentious globalists gather, organize, and propose global initiatives (Taunton). And more on the group’s founder, Klaus Schwab and the beautiful displays of hypocrisy that you can only see at Davos: Last year, (unelected) EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen arrived in a 550+ HP Audi A8 and then proceeded to lecture any listening about the need to reduce their individual carbon footprints. You see, like Schwab and Kerry and other WEFers, she sees nothing hypocritical in her actions. On the contrary, they see themselves as exceptions to the rules. They are the self-appointed rulers of the utopia they propose to build (Taunton).

‘Donald Trump set to steal the limelight at World Economic Forum’
That’s a fitting headline from the Financial Times. Trump will show up not as an endorsement but a frontal challenge to the global elites: In a world swinging from free trade to mercantilism, the annual gathering of political and business leaders in Davos this week will make for interesting watching, and watch it we must as some of the most powerful people in the world descend on the Alpine retreat. US President Donald Trump will be arriving in force — the largest ever American delegation by some estimates — and he’ll be joined by his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy, France’s Emmanuel Macron, UK chancellor Rachel Reeves, Germany’s Friedrich Merz among others (Financial Times). California Governor Gavin Newsom doesn’t want to be left out. The “Davos Democrat” will be there too (Business Insider).
