Today I delivered my State of the Nation speech where I announced National =
will continue its programme of bold reforms to build a future that will pro=
vide more opportunities.=C2=A0 =C2=A0
Over the last two years National has been focused on fixing the basics and =
building the future to help Kiwis get ahead.
=C2=A0
We are making good progress. Inflation and interest rates are down, putting=
more money into household budgets. Kiwi kids are starting to do better at =
school and violent crime is tracking down, keeping our streets safer.
=C2=A0
But if we are serious about building the future, we need serious reform - i=
ncluding in three big areas of KiwiSaver, NCEA and the RMA.
=C2=A0
More than ever, now is the moment for decisive action.=C2=A0
=C2=A0
Whether you=E2=80=99re driving trucks, making coffee, herding cattle or get=
ting ready to take on the world, I want to unleash the extraordinary potent=
ial of this country so you can get ahead through higher incomes, more jobs =
and a better shot at the Kiwi dream.
