Hi friend,
This week, I wanted to highlight community infrastructure wins in the Hudson Valley, and my continued fight against Trump’s overreach both at home and abroad. Thank you for standing with me.

What I’m doing: After years of delays and uncertainty, I secured nearly $1 million in federal funding to move the Millerton and North East wastewater project forward. This EPA grant fully funds the engineering design phase and clears the way for the next stage of work. Reliable wastewater infrastructure is essential for public health, environmental protection, and local economic growth. I worked closely with local leaders and federal partners to make sure this funding was finalized and delivered so the project could finally advance.
This investment removes a major financial barrier for the village and ensures that Millerton and North East can move ahead without placing additional burdens on local taxpayers. It is exactly how federal dollars should work for the Hudson Valley.
What you can do: Stay engaged as the project moves into the design phase and share feedback with local officials when opportunities arise. Strong community involvement helps keep projects like this on track and ensures they deliver real benefits. When residents speak up and stay involved, we can keep improving infrastructure across our region.

What I’m doing: I launched a public petition to stop the Trump administration from turning a warehouse in Chester into an ICE detention facility. Local leaders and residents were given no warning, no details, and no say, which is completely unacceptable. After more than 1,000 people packed a community meeting to oppose this plan, I made it clear that our Hudson Valley will not be used for mass detention camps. This proposal is shameful, un-American, and directly betrays the values our community stands for. ICE’s conduct is unacceptable, and we must hold everyone involved accountable ( especially Stephen Miller [[link removed]] ).
What you can do: Add your name to the petition and make your opposition official. [[link removed]] Talk with friends, family, and coworkers about what is happening and why it matters. Show up at local meetings and support community leaders who are speaking out. When thousands of people raise their voices together, it sends a clear message that our community will not be ignored.

What I’m doing: I am working to rein in President Trump’s unauthorized military actions in Venezuela and reassert Congress’ constitutional authority over war. As a combat veteran, I have been having direct conversations with Republican colleagues, especially veterans who know firsthand the cost of endless conflict. Many of them are deeply troubled by the idea of dragging the country into another open-ended war without congressional approval, a clear strategy, or an exit plan. I am helping lead the effort in the House to force a war powers vote that would block further military action unless Congress authorizes it. This is about accountability, transparency, and stopping another forever war before it starts.
What you can do: Pay attention to this vote and make your voice heard. Call your representatives and tell them you expect Congress to do its job and check the president’s war-making power. Share credible reporting and ask tough questions about why military force is being used and who it really serves.

Standing up to this lawless administration is patriotic. Not only that, but it’s what this moment demands of us. We cannot mince words when the stakes are this high. I hope you’ll continue to use your voice, and your power, to help rescue our democracy.
Keep the faith, keep up the fight, and thank you for reading!
In Solidarity,
Pat
