We’re officially in an election year, and with January already halfway over, I wanted to share a few important updates on where things stand and why this moment matters so much:
- This election will determine control of the House. With just three seats separating control, races including CA-27 will decide whether Democrats can deliver real results or whether Republicans continue to block progress.
- I’m delivering for our communities, even with the odds stacked against us. Just this month, the House passed an extension of the ACA tax credits, a critical step toward lowering healthcare costs for families across our communities. It’s a reminder of what’s possible when Democrats stand firm.
- I’m focused on the issues that hit home. One year after the devastating Southern California wildfires, recovery is still ongoing. I’m pushing for long-overdue federal disaster relief and introducing legislation to protect the health and safety of the wildland firefighters who put their lives on the line for us.
- Republicans are already gearing up to flip this seat. Despite new district lines, political experts continue to rank CA-27 as one of the most competitive races in the country. National Republicans know it, and they’re preparing early to pour money and attacks into this district.
