Hey there John,
I've been thinking a lot lately about the things that make our state feel so special.
There is a unique Nebraska tradition that always comes to mind during these chilly January weeks. It is the kind of thing that makes people from other states tilt their heads in confusion, but to those of us who live here, it makes perfect sense: a big bowl of chili served with a sweet, frosted cinnamon roll.
I know everyone has their own specific way of enjoying it. Some of my friends are "dippers" who scoop the chili with a piece of the roll. Others prefer to keep the savory and the sweet completely separate, saving the frosting for the very last bite.
I love that this meal is a little bit unexpected. It is a reminder that different things can come together to create something wonderful, even if they seem like an unlikely match at first.
That's exactly the spirit I try to bring to my work every day.
I believe our best ideas often come from bringing people together who might not always agree. We can find common ground in our shared love for our communities and our desire to build a brighter future for our children. Leadership should be about finding those "unexpected" connections and working together to make sure every Nebraskan feels supported and valued.
I am so grateful for the way you have stepped up to support this campaign.
Your belief in this vision is what keeps me moving forward with a heart full of hope. We are building something beautiful together, and I am honored to have you as a partner in this work.
If you are able to help us reach our mid-month goal, please consider chipping in to my campaign today.
Every contribution helps us share our message of compassion and collaboration with neighbors across the state.
Together in sweetness with a pinch of salt!
