Yesterday, Democrat Abigail Spanberger was sworn in as Virginia’s
Governor—alongside Ghazala Hashmi as Lieutenant Governor and Jay Jones as
Attorney General—and it’s thanks in part to the hard work of the Swing
Left community that this moment was possible.

Your efforts helped elect these statewide leaders and flip eight key House
of Delegates seats, expanding Democrats’ majority in the Virginia House of
Delegates. Every door knocked, call made, and dollar donated built the
foundation for these wins—and for the progress that follows.
Now, Democrats are in a position to deliver real results for Virginians.
In the first week of the legislative session, Democrats in the Virginia
House and Senate approved constitutional amendments to protect abortion
access, voting rights, and marriage equality.
They also passed a redistricting amendment to allow Virginia voters to
approve new congressional maps this spring, an important step in pushing
back against GOP-led gerrymanders nationwide.
This is what Democratic wins and majorities make possible: advancing
progressive policies while also serving as a xxxxxx against Republican
actions that would otherwise go unchecked. And these wins in Virginia
didn’t happen by accident—they happened because people like you invested
your time, energy and resources.
Now we need to extend that same strategy nationally, to break Republican
control in Washington D.C. this November. To do that, we’ve launched
[ [link removed] ]Ground Truth, Swing Left’s most ambitious organizing program ever.
Ground Truth is a different kind of canvassing. Instead of focusing only
on “likely voters”, we’re talking to all potential swing district voters,
asking open-ended questions, and listening deeply to collect real,
on-the-ground insights about what voters actually care about. That
information is then shared directly with Democratic campaigns and state
parties early enough to shape messaging, targeting, and strategy when it
can still change outcomes.
Starting January 24th, volunteers across the country can take part in
Ground Truth canvasses and phone banks in the swing districts that will
help decide control of the House.
Expanding this work in all 33 of our target swing districts is a big
undertaking, and Swing Left is aiming to double our budget this year to
