I wanted to reach out after recent events. I hope you'll read this through
to the end.

On January 7th, ICE's secret police killed a woman in cold blood and shot
another person. The week before, they shot two more people.

These aren't the first acts of brutality from ICE, and unless Democrats
act, they won’t be the last. In fact, we've always known that they were a
danger to our families and the communities they terrorize.

But despite that, earlier this Congress, Congressman Shri Thanedar VOTED
TO 'THANK' ICE FOR EVERYTHING THEY'VE UNLEASHED.

Specifically, he voted to “express gratitude” to ICE for “protecting our
homeland.”

Only cowards surrender to the Trump administration like that.

My opponent supported a destabilizing secret police force because he's
afraid and weak when he’s supposed to be defending our district from the
Trump regime and fighting back. History will remember him alongside every
other coward who bowed to fascism.

We can't reward this. Detroit's Congressman needs to play a role in
eradicating every part of the infrastructure being used to kill our
community members and kidnap our neighbors.

John, the Mighty 13th can no longer play a role in legitimizing
the violence of tyrants. But taking on Thanedar and winning this
Democratic primary means fighting AIPAC, corporate fossil fuel giants, and
every oligarch trying to maintain their power.
