White House Invitation

I am excited to be invited by the White House to speak on religious liberty at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The World Economic Forum is a gathering of heads-of-state and top business leaders from around the world. More than 200 presentations will address global economic and geopolitical issues.

For the first time ever, the United States has its own venue at the forum, called the USA House. The USA House gives the United States a platform to promote conservative, pro-growth, market-driven ideas, defend individual liberty, and push back against socialism and communism. I will be joining several presidential cabinet officials who will also speak at the USA House, along with President Trump’s address to the forum later in the week.

As Chair of President Trump’s Commission on Religious Liberty, I have the opportunity to affirm America’s foundational commitment to religious liberty: the freedom to live, work, and worship according to one’s conscience, without government interference. I will affirm how religious liberty, one of our country’s founding principles, has powered Texas to become the greatest state in the nation and America to become the greatest country on earth.

Texas Is #1 in the World

While in Davos, I will meet with business leaders who currently invest in Texas, as well as potential new investors. One of the most important roles I have as Lt. Governor, alongside cutting taxes, protecting our Second Amendment rights, safeguarding life, liberty, and freedom, ensuring public safety, and supporting a quality education for all Texans, is creating good-paying jobs in our state. Texas has led the nation in job creation for years, but we cannot rest on our success. The competition for investment and new jobs is fierce, and other states want what we have built.

The freedoms Texans and Americans enjoy are the envy of the world, and religious liberty, secured in our First Amendment, is the bedrock that makes all those other freedoms possible.

Why I Stand Behind the Candidates I Endorse

This is an interesting article by the [[link removed]]Texas Tribune [[link removed]]. The facts are correct, but they miss the key point. It’s not about me–it’s about them.

The reason I get involved in Senate races is that I’m only as good as the 20 Republicans in the Senate. I need a solid team of smart, hard-working conservative Republicans to pass the conservative agenda our voters expect us to pass.

My criteria for an endorsement are simple:

1. Are they a true conservative?

2. Do they have a depth of knowledge on the main issues?

3. Will they outwork all of their opponents?

4. Can they raise the needed money to win the race? They don’t have to have the most, but they have to have enough to win.

5. Do they have a real path to victory?

That’s it.

If a candidate doesn’t have all five keys to victory, it’s really hard to win.

Every Republican member of the Texas Senate today meets those five criteria. They are the hardest-working, smartest, and most conservative legislators in the country. I’m very proud of them.

Bottom line: it’s NOT me. It’s them. They make it easy for me to endorse and confidently ask the President to do the same. He always asks me, “Will they win?” I always say, Mr. President, with their qualifications and your endorsement, yes.

Thank you, Texas Farm Bureau

Every Republican in SD 9 Must Turn Out and Make Their Voice Heard

There’s a critical special election in Tarrant County to fill the Texas Senate seat vacated by former Sen. Kelly Hancock.

President Trump, Governor Abbott, Tarrant County Judge Tim O’Hare, every major grassroots organization, and I have all endorsed Leigh Wambsganss. We need her in the Texas Senate.

Early voting begins this Wednesday, January 21. If you live in SD 9, make a plan to vote. Every Republican in the district must turn out and make their voice heard!

Vote Early: Wednesday, January 21 – Tuesday, January 27

Election Day: Saturday, January 31

Are You Registered to Vote?
