John,

The Voting Rights Act is in danger of being gutted ahead of this year’s midterms.

The Supreme Court’s pending decision on Louisiana v. Callais has the potential to open the floodgates on President Trump’s redistricting crisis by completely disenfranchising black and brown voters — and upending so much progress for fair representation.

Louisiana v. Callais focuses on Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, which is “the central safeguard against racially discriminatory redistricting.”

It’s up to us to be ready when the Supreme Court makes its decision, which could happen any day now. We need your support to scale our resources to mobilize, no matter how the Court rules.

Here’s how Stacey Abrams framed what’s at stake:

“This decision could undo decades of hard-won progress on civil rights for our communities and the consequences are clear.”

- Stacey Abrams

We know there are Republican lawmakers banking on this decision coming down with enough time to pass new, unfair maps ahead of the midterms. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has openly talked about preparing for that outcome — the NDRC is the organization created to fight back and defend fair representation for everyone.

Make a donation today to ensure that our fair maps movement has all the support we can get to defeat extreme anti-democracy attacks on voting rights. [[link removed]]
