Port of Tacoma Commission to meet January 21

Port of Tacoma Commissioners on January 21 will elect officers for 2026, approve Commission boards and work groups, and consider authorizing international Commissioner travel through June 2026. They will also consider a sale agreement for 13120 Tilley Road SW and a master benefits and salary resolution. Commissioner Don Meyer retires from the Port

After 40 years of service on the Tacoma waterfront, including 16 years as a Port of Tacoma Commissioner, Don Meyer has retired. He decided not to seek re-election last year, and his last Commission meeting was December 16. Meyer’s career at the Port began as a staff member in 1985. He served in a variety of roles, including Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Director. Read more ⇒

Provide feedback on 2026 Brownfields Cleanup Grant

The Port is applying for an EPA Brownfields Cleanup Grant to support remediation of a parcel of land within the Maritime Center planning area. We invite you to review the grant application and share feedback through January 26. NWSA says ‘goodbye’ to two legacy cranes

Last month, Tacoma’s waterfront said goodbye to two ship-to-shore cranes that had stood at Terminal 7 for decades. They had reached the end of their safe and useful life and were towed to the Port of Bellingham to be recycled. Their removal allows for increased cargo activity and future terminal improvements.
