For months, we’ve watched in horror as armed, unaccountable ICE agents have entered communities across the country - not to keep people safe, but to intimidate, terrorize, and escalate violence.
Last week, that violence turned deadly in Minneapolis, when an ICE agent shot and killed a mother of three in her car.
Yet, there has been
no accountability. In fact, the Trump Administration is doubling down on this violence - spreading lies to justify what happened and threatening to invoke the Insurrection Act and send the U.S. military to Minnesota.
It’s despicable. That’s why Marilyn took the House floor this week and called this moment for what it is:
“Democrats, Independents, and Republicans are outraged by this administration's complete overreach and assault on the rights of the American people. This was never about immigration for them - this is domestic terrorism.
American lives have become an afterthought to this Administration's ultimate goal of scaring people, declaring martial law, and using ICE as the president's personal police force.”
