Email from Rep. McCaul Beating China in the Race for AI Dominance In 1996, as an attorney at the Department of Justice, I prosecuted the Johnny Chung case, which uncovered that China was funneling money into the campaign coffers of the DNC. They wanted to influence our presidential election in favor of Bill Clinton because they believed his administration would give them greater access to sensitive U.S. technology. China wanted our technology back then, and they still want it today. In fact, they often attempt to steal our technology, but as I always say, we don't have to sell it to them. This week, the House Foreign Affairs Committee held a hearing on the importance of keeping American artificial intelligence technology out of the CCP's hands. China has been clear that their goal is "global military and economic domination" — and AI is the key to achieving that goal. I spoke with President Trump's former Deputy National Security Advisor, Matt Pottinger, about what must be done to keep China from building its military, surveillance, and oppression state on the back of U.S.-made technology. President Trump has proven he means business with Tehran. He warned them to stop working on their nuclear programs, and when they refused, he swiftly eliminated their stockpiles. I have no doubt that if they ignore his calls for restraint now, they will once again face the consequences. The people of Iran deserve far better than the Ayatollah's brutal and repressive regime. They must be allowed to determine their own future — one that I hope will be prosperous, secure, and free. I spoke more about the latest developments in Iran yesterday on Newsmax's American Agenda.
