Fuck ICE

With the anniversary of Trump’s second inauguration approaching, it’s been nearly a full year of ICE terrorizing communities across the country, conducting unjust and unpopular deportations while using physical force against protestors.

Last week, the violence reached a new moral low when an ICE officer shot and killed Renee Good, a local poet and mother of three. But despite the Trump administration’s attempts to make all of us (yep, including Joe Rogan) deny what we saw with our own eyes, voters agree that the shooting of Renee Good was unjustified.

A majority of voters (56%) say they disagree with the Trump administration’s description of Good as a “domestic terrorist.” Which makes sense. Given the events of January 6, 2021, it’s a bit hard to believe any accusations of “domestic terrorism” coming from the insurrectionists at the White House. 

And a majority of voters also say that they would support the State of Minnesota pressing charges against the ICE officer who killed Good, including Democrats by a +63-point margin and Independents by a +21-point margin.

Reality isn’t some optical illusion where some people see a duck and other people see a rabbit. The Trump administration's version of events is largely misaligned with voters on this issue, who want to see accountability for ICE’s unjustified violence.

War, what is it good for? (Oil!)

Funny how things change. Twenty years ago, presidents had to produce elaborate lies to pretend like we weren’t invading a foreign country for the benefit of American oil companies. But today, presidents can just come right out and say it! So modern, so chic.

It turns out that after Trump’s recent invasion of Venezuela and capture of its president, Nicolás Maduro, voters might be starting to become a bit skeptical of Trump’s FIFA Peace Prize.

When asked whether Trump is a pro-war or pro-peace president, a majority of voters (57%) say he is a pro-war president. This includes 86% of Democrats, 61% of Independents, and 56% of persuadable voters — those who say they “normally vote about equally for both major parties.”

A majority of voters also say that the invasion was primarily motivated by the U.S. wanting to increase its control over Venezuelan oil resources. However, only 37% of voters think this should be a higher priority than investing in the development of clean energy like solar and wind in the U.S. (59%).

Trump can’t even run one country effectively. We’ll see how trying to run two works out for him.

Golf All the Time. President, Occasionally.

We all know Trump thinks very highly of himself. He can’t help but call everything he does the greatest, and he’s so shameless that he’d steal other people’s prizes and pretend they are his. But we’re nearly a year in now, and can’t blame everything on Sleepy Joe anymore. 

A few weeks ago, Trump said he would grade his economy as an A+++++. But the truth is, most voters still think our economy has gone to sh*t.

When asked how they would evaluate the U.S. economy, 78% of voters say they would give it a C, D, or F. Not exactly the kind of score you want to take home to your parents.

You can't win a midterm on delusions and fantasies. Which is maybe why Trump is now “joking” about cancelling the November elections. We would suggest that Trump actually do something about the affordability crisis impacting Americans, but that would take too much time away from his real job — building ballrooms and putting his name on buildings and roads.
