Over the last month, Donald Trump has attacked our state and our communities nonstop.

He announced plans to dismantle the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder — putting 830 Colorado jobs at risk and threatening the life-saving breakthroughs they make possible.

He used the first veto of his second term to keep rural Coloradans from getting clean water. Yep, you read that right. Trump chose to halt the Arkansas Valley Conduit, a water infrastructure project that had the support of every single House and Senate member — leaving real people out to dry for his own political grievances.

And he is threatening to rip away child care and resources from our state at a time when prices are already too high for families, all in his own reckless pursuit of political retribution.

Colorado won’t be bullied by the president.

We refuse to bend to his will. We’re still fighting back with every tool we have to save NCAR, protect child care, and stand up to his intimidation tactics.

But we can’t keep up this fight alone. As one of the only first-term Democrats in the Senate up for re-election this year, I’m already one of the GOP’s top targets — and Trump will be looking for any reason to pour even more money into flipping this seat.
