Dear Team,

Louisiana is targeting doctors while enforcing an abortion ban that puts lives at risk every day.

FIGHT BACK

Just this week, Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill announced a criminal arrest warrant for a California doctor, accusing him of trafficking illegal abortion pills into the state. Prosecutors allege that the doctor mailed abortion medication to a Louisiana woman who ordered it online after learning she was pregnant in 2023.

Anti-abortion zealots are attacking medication abortion—and the providers who prescribe it—precisely because it has become a lifeline in a post-Roe world. The consequences of these attacks are devastating. People continue to suffer serious harm and, in some cases, die after being denied essential abortion care.

Abortion providers everywhere must be defended and protected. Your support today makes that defense possible.

GIVE NOW

Medication abortion is widely used and incredibly safe, including when provided via telehealth. But because abortion is banned in states like Louisiana, thousands of women are forced to seek abortion pills by mail each year. That reality will not change until abortion is legal EVERYWHERE and doctors are free to provide care without fear of prosecution.

This is why the Center's legal work matters so urgently right now.

Your gift today helps fuel the legal fights that protect doctors, defend patients, and push back against dangerous, politically motivated attacks on reproductive health care.

Thank you for fighting with us,
