Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
Last year, the Sheriff of Bucks County signed a collaboration agreement with ICE. That agreement gave deputies “extraordinary powers” to support ICE, effectively making local law enforcement work on behalf of ICE.
A VoteVets candidate, Army Veteran Danny Ceisler, ran against that Sheriff. He ran, in part, on ending that collaboration agreement with ICE. And guess what?
He won — and this week, he kept his word. That collaboration agreement is over.
If you’re ever in doubt of your impact, think about that. You supported VoteVets, VoteVets supported Danny Ceisler, he won his campaign, and now he’s serving his community.
It’s a powerful reminder. We can make a difference.
And as we gear up for elections this November at every level of government, think about what we can accomplish if we work together. A country full of Danny Ceislers doesn’t sound so bad to us.
