Hi John,
A national magazine, The American Prospect, just called our race “the most
interesting primary of 2026.”
They argue it’s because this primary is forcing a real question about who
the Democratic Party is going to be, and who it’s willing to fight for —
and I fully agree with that take.
My opponents represent two very different visions of what the Democratic
Party should be:
1. An establishment-approved vision, where taking money from AIPAC and
corporate PACs is treated as harmless. Every policy gets vetted by
corporate interests. Taxpayer dollars continue to fund genocide
overseas.
2. A go-wherever-the-wind-blows vision, where saying genocide is genocide
only happens once it’s politically convenient, which makes it hard to
know what they’ll stand for when the pressure is on. The same goes for
taking corporate PAC money.
And then there's us.
We're fighting to stop taxpayer dollars from funding genocide in Gaza.
We’re fighting for Medicare for All. For empowered unions and strong
anti-monopoly enforcement. For a Democratic Party that actually stands for
something concrete instead of running away from our values.
And I’m the only candidate in this race who has never, and will never,
take money from corporate PACs. That means my name’s not listed on charts
like this. 👇
[ A ]A bar graph chart showing top corporate PAC donors to Michigan Senate
candidates. Every candidate, except Abdul, is listed on the chart.
It also means you can trust that I’m fully focused on making life better
for working people. There are no billionaire donors or corporate PAC
managers I need to check in with before posting online, meeting with
Michiganders, or talking about the issues that matter most to us.
This approach is working.
Depending on the poll, we’re basically tied up for first place. With the
right resources, we can reach more voters, organize more communities, and
make the case that a Democratic Party grounded in moral clarity and
economic justice can actually win here in Michigan and beyond.
The only obstacle standing in our way is the millions of dollars that
AIPAC and corporate interests will likely use to try to drown us out and
boost their preferred candidate to victory.
I know not everyone can donate, but if you’re able to today, it
could be the difference between winning and losing this primary.
