Last summer, Donald Trump ignited a redistricting crisis the likes of which we’ve never seen before. And recently, he’s made abundantly clear why — warning fellow Republicans that if they lose the House, “I’ll get impeached.”

This kind of brazen, authoritarian attack on our electoral process cannot be fought by strongly-worded statements alone. We must take responsible and responsive collective action to protect the very foundations of our democracy.

That’s why Virginia is following California's lead by putting a plan before voters to restore the seats Trump has stolen in Texas, Missouri, and North Carolina. Unlike those states, Virginia’s measure will be voted on out in the open by voters themselves — not drawn up in backrooms by shady politicians. Virginia voters will have the chance to pass a constitutional amendment allowing the legislature to draw new maps in response to Republicans’ mid-decade redistricting — all in time for the 2026 midterms.

Virginians won’t let map manipulators get away with their cynical schemes. But this fight is so much bigger than one state — and that’s why your support is critical to guaranteeing we have the resources needed to fight for fairness in every state where they attempt to gerrymander.
