This morning, Trump tossed around the idea of invoking the Insurrection Act on Truth Social. There’s a claim to be made that this was the plan all along. Why else send 3,000 poorly trained ICE agents to a city where they outnumber local law enforcement officers 5 to 1?
Every Trump action is a provocation intended to get the reaction he needs to consolidate power.
Meanwhile, the streets of Minneapolis are erupting with protests, which are met with smoke, flashbombs, and chemical deterrents from federal agents. Make no mistake: this chaos belongs to Trump. Do ICE agents, draped in tear gas, guns drawn, shaking with rage, honestly think they are making things better for Americans?
Probably not. But that’s not their aim.
All of this while France, Denmark, and Germany send troops to Greenland to prepare for a potential war with the United States.
