This week, child care providers all across Colorado are scrambling just to keep their lights on — and it’s because of Donald Trump.

Trump announced an unprecedented freeze on federal funds earmarked for child care programs. But only in Democratic-leaning states: Colorado, California, Illinois, Minnesota, and New York.

Let’s call it like it is: This is political retribution, plain and simple — and our kids are paying the price.

We already knew Donald Trump has no morals, no principles, no concern for the future of our country or our kids. But this? This is beyond the pale.

To Donald Trump — and the entire Republican Party — Colorado’s kids are just collateral damage, political pawns they don’t care about. Brittany Pettersen? She does.
