Protecting Pets and Livestock from Gray Wolves
Last month, the U.S. House passed my Pet and Livestock Protection Act to remove the gray wolf from the Endangered Species Act and return wolf management to the states. Several states in the Northern Rockies are already responsibly managing stable wolf populations. Yet despite clear evidence of recovery, with more than 1,000 wolves in Wisconsin, our state is blocked from doing the same because of a ruling by a judge in California.
As a result, for the third year in a row, wolf attacks in Wisconsin have increased. The people who live closest to the gray wolf and deal with the real-world consequences every day should be the ones managing its population. That’s why I support delisting the gray wolf and returning wolf management to the states. Do you agree?
