** Invitation: Can We Protect Kids Online?
------------------------------------------------------------

Practically everyone agrees that social media has had a deleterious effect on youth, from increasing rates of depression to horrific sextortion cases. But amidst the torrent of negative headlines and tragic examples, a question emerges: can we even manage to protect kids online? Is the internet doomed to be a permanent Wild West, or can something be done?

And if so, who should be responsible: parents, social media companies, or the government?

Congress is currently wrestling with these questions, and we thought we would too.

Join us on January 29th as we discuss!

Evan Swarztrauber will moderate a discussion between Joel Thayer, President of the Digital Progress Institute and Ari Cohn, Lead Counsel of Tech Policy at the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE).

5:30 - Doors Open
6:00 - Discussion Begins
7:00 - Closing Reception
