Country First was founded in the immediate wake of January 6th with the explicit goal to defend and renew our nation’s commitment to democracy and the rule of law.

The murder of Renee Good by an ICE agent on January 7th changed everything.

In the immediate aftermath, the Trump administration responded in ways that raised serious concerns about the Rule of Law and serious concerns regarding the safety of Americans from all walks of life. 

Country First has more than 300,000 members and over 10,000 active volunteers fighting for our democracy and demanding accountability. While our commitment to our mission hasn’t changed, our need to ramp up our operations and ensure the safety of our volunteers has changed dramatically.

Country First is leading the charge, rallying voters to demand an immediate investigation into ICE and its practices. We can’t allow what happened in Minnesota to be white washed.  And we can’t let the good name of a young mother be politically smeared by the Trump Administration and their allies in the media. 

To complicate our fight, Republicans in Congress gave ICE almost $30 billion this year alone fueling an agency that has already thrown communities into chaos.

We’re not going to sugar coat our situation, winning this fight and holding ICE accountable will take a long and protracted team effort.
