The Virginia Grassroots Coalition will kick off Week 2 of the General Assembly session with its annual, people-powered press conference. Grassroots issue leaders and lawmakers will lay out the most urgent 2026 legislation, the path through committees, and clear, actionable ways the public can help move votes. This is a focused roadmap—not a speech-a-thon. Topics will include voting rights, reproductive freedom and maternal health, marriage equality, public education, gun safety, affordable housing, workers’ rights, climate and clean energy, justice system improvements, and broadband access. Hosted by Coastal Anchor Carrie Short, with moderation by Luisa Boyarski . Coalition leaders Katherine (“Big Mic”) and Finale (“Show Messenger”) Norton will also be in Richmond on January 14 for Opening Day and the Grassroots Welcome Gathering (3–4 pm, General Assembly Building, 9th Floor, House Subcommittee Room 9).
