Hi JOHN ,
I wanted to reach out about an issue that is central to why I’m running: health care.
It’s no secret, the American health care system isn’t built for working people. Health care should not be a privilege reserved only for those who can afford it. Vermonters deserve a common sense health care system where its purpose isn’t to increase CEO profits, but to provide affordable care for all, regardless of folks’ income or where Vermonters live.
According to a report published in 2025 [[link removed]] , Vermonters spend more of their income on health insurance than any residents of any other state, and despite money spent, rural hospitals are cutting services. [[link removed]]
As a new mom and longtime caregiver for my own mom, the impacts of a failing healthcare system aren’t abstract, they’re real.
I know what it’s like to be in labor and wonder whether you are going to get to a birthing center on time.
I know what it’s like to spend countless hours in hospitals with a loved one, get the Medicare letter and not know what to do next, and to have to fight like hell for proper care.
As an employer, I know what it’s like to face premium increases and not know whether you’ll be able to provide insurance to your employees.
Like you, I’ve experienced the struggles so many Vermonters face—from rising health insurance premiums and Medicaid cuts, to accessing home health and long-term care.
I believe it is the job of the Lt. Governor to elevate the voices of those who are impacted by the policies of our state. Every. Single. Day. That begins now.
I want to hear from you.
Have you lost coverage? Have you been denied care? Have your premiums skyrocketed? Is your business struggling to cover your employees’ health care?
Reach out [[link removed]] and share your story.
All Vermonters deserve affordable and accessible health care, no matter where they live and as Lt. Governor, I will continue to fight for just that.
Best,
Molly Gray
