[1]NNU - Medicare for All!
Last week, the U.S. House voted on legislation to restore Affordable Care
Act (ACA) subsidies that expired at the end of 2025. It passed with a
sizable majority, with 17 Republicans joining Democrats in supporting it.
It’s clear that this commonsense and necessary assistance for working
families has broad support.
But the Senate already rejected a similar bill, and even if they reach a
compromise, President Trump just said he may veto it.

Meanwhile, enrollment in ACA health care plans has already dropped by 1.4
million people in 2026 thanks to skyrocketing prices, and that number is
likely to grow.
But at the end of the day, while extending ACA subsidies would help, it
would only be a band-aid on our out-of-control health care crisis. The
real solution in this moment is to replace our for-profit system with
Medicare for All.
Increasingly, both politicians and working-class people across the country
are recognizing the urgency of winning Medicare for All, and that this is
our moment for a bold solution.
