On Wednesday, February 4 (February 5 for VoteBuilder), we’ll introduce a new Favorites section at the top of the contact record page. Users can “star” any section to add it to Favorites, then reorder their favorite sections to create a personalized, ideal view.

This functionality applies to both the left- and right-hand columns, and users may “favorite” an unlimited number of sections. Additionally, users will not need to “save” their page layout – the order of favorited page sections will be maintained.

We’ve mirrored this Favorites workflow on the Create a List page to provide a consistent experience across the product.

For users with an existing saved custom section order, we’ll automatically migrate their first five sections into Favorites, giving them a head start on customizing their layout. All non-favorited page sections will now be ordered alphabetically by default.

We’ll start letting users know about the upcoming change with in-app notifications in January. On release day, users will see a brief highlighted tour of the new Favorites section the first time they click into a contact record.

Though it’s a small change, we hope you’re excited about this long-requested update that will make this page easier to use.

This is the page where you view information on a voter, volunteer, or contact record whether you are in a My Voters, My Campaign, My Workers, My Members, or EveryAction database.

No, the page will remember the order of sections marked as favorites. In fact, we will remove the “save page layout” button. This is like existing functionality on Create a List. All non-favorited page sections will now be ordered alphabetically by default.

No, there is no limit.

For users with an existing saved custom section order, we’ll automatically migrate your first five sections into Favorites, giving you a head start on customizing the page layout. Unfortunately, we’re not able to recreate existing saved page layouts in their entirety as part of the release. However, you’ll be able to customize your page as desired by “starring” any section to add it to Favorites, then reordering it to create a personalized view.
