[ [link removed] ]Ayanna Pressley for Congress
ICE agents are terrorizing communities across America. They are ravaging
our communities, brutalizing families, and killing our neighbors on the
street in cold blood.
We’ve all seen the videos of ICE shooting and killing Renee Good, a poet
and mother who was unarmed and trying to drive away.
Following her tragic death at the hands of law enforcement, Republicans
rushed to deny the truth and smear the victim — a tired playbook that the
Black community understands all too well.
When I introduced a motion in the Oversight Committee for an independent
and thorough investigation into Renee’s murder, Republicans blocked it.
The White House followed suit, claiming that ICE agents have full
immunity.
What we are dealing with is a rogue government that wants to weaponize law
enforcement against its own citizens with zero accountability or
oversight. And people are looking to Congress to step up.
Yesterday, I re-introduced my bill to end qualified immunity for federal
law enforcement officers, including ICE agents. We need accountability. We
need justice. No one is above the law.
[ [link removed] ]Now is the time to demonstrate strong support for this legislation. If
you agree that ICE agents must be held accountable for breaking the law
and killing our neighbors, add your name to say you support my
legislation.
ADD MY NAME
This bill is for Renee Good, and so many others.
This bill is for Keith Porter, a proud girl dad, who was killed by an ICE
agent in Los Angeles.
And people like Nenko Gantchev from Chicago, who died in ICE custody after
living in the United States for 30 years.
This bill is for every person in America, citizen or not, to know that
when state, local, and federal law enforcement officers break the law,
they should be held accountable.
For the families of these victims, and for our country to be truly just,
Congress must end qualified immunity. We need to demonstrate that there’s
real strength behind this legislation right now, pressure Congressional
Republicans to stand with their constituents, and get this passed.

qualified immunity and hold these ICE agents accountable.
In solidarity,
Ayanna
