JOHN,

I’m a mom to two children in our public schools. I’m a teacher. And yes, I’m
an activist. I didn’t choose to become an activist. I was pushed here by
policies that failed my students and put my kids’ futures at risk.

I spent over a decade working in underfunded public schools. I watched
classrooms do more with less, educators stretch themselves thin, and students
fall through cracks that never should have existed in the first place.

Public schools are supposed to be places of opportunity, safety, and support.
Instead, too many have become battlegrounds for political agendas that don’t
care who gets hurt in the process.

That’s why I’m asking you to support Educated We Stand. Can I count on you to
pitch in $10, $25, or whatever you can to help us protect our schools?

We are fighting back against the policies and politicians that are starving
our schools, targeting vulnerable students, and silencing educators who speak
up. We’re organizing locally, winning school board races, and stopping
extremists before they can do real damage.

But I’m not backing down. And with your help, neither will we.

— Karla Hernández-Mats
