Last week, an ICE agent opened fire on - and killed - an American citizen in Minneapolis, MN. This is a direct result of sending under-trained, armed agents into our neighborhoods across the country with zero accountability and a mission of hate.
Republicans like Derrick Van Orden have voted to balloon ICE's budget so that they can terrorize our communities.
My heart goes out to the family of Renee Good, her community, and all the lives devastated by the violence carried out by the Trump administration.
Now is a time to hold our neighbors tight and care for one another. While this administration lies and spreads propaganda, we must continue to record the actions of agents and spread truth far and wide. Democracy dies in darkness.
We deserve a Representative that will hold these agents and this administration accountable to the fullest extent of the law. We also deserve a Representative who will rein in DHS, not expand their powers and use hateful rhetoric toward our immigrant communities.
