There’s a new kind of Democratic coalition forming — one that could
transform politics as we know it.

It’s made up of people who’ve lived through the consequences of a
government that failed them, from Boomers who protested Vietnam and are
now back in the streets demanding no Kings in America and volunteering on
many of the campaigns we are supporting, to Gen Z voters and candidates
rising up to lead this country forward.

We may come from different generations, but we’re united by one truth:
We’re done waiting for someone else to fix this.

And that’s exactly what Leaders We Deserve is about. We’re building a
political home for everyone who believes it’s time to put a new generation
of progressives in power.

Some of the strongest supporters of this movement are folks decades older
than the candidates we’re backing, and I think that’s powerful as hell. It
shows that the narrative about this being about old vs. young isn’t true.
It's about status quo vs a new way of doing things, something people of
all ages can get behind. It proves that this whole movement we’re building
isn’t just about age. It’s about urgency and shared purpose.

We don’t need less of the older generation, we need all hands on deck.
Because when a third of the country is Gen Z or Millennial but we barely
have a fraction of the power, we are failing to deliver the government
that all Americans deserve.

We’ve seen what happens when we come together across generations. We’ve
watched it block abortion bans. We’ve watched it win statehouse races. And
we’re just getting started.

If we can grow this Boomer Zoomer coalition, or whatever we end up calling
it (feel free to send us your name suggestions!), we can build a
Democratic Party strong enough to put a check on Trump and finally start
rebuilding this country.
