Donald Trump joined Mike Rogers at an event in Michigan earlier today and announced to the crowd that Elissa Slotkin stole her Senate election in 2024.

Everyone in that room -- including the candidate she beat, Mike Rogers -- knows the election wasn’t stolen. It was indeed a close race — but as the saying goes "close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades."

Here's why this matters though:

Trump is attempting to rile up the Republican base in Michigan -- and to lay the groundwork for election denial again in 2026. Everyone in that room may know that what Trump is saying is madness, but there are millions of Americans who will believe most anything he says.

And what Trump and Rogers, who is again running for the Senate, are hoping they'll donate, volunteer, post on social media ... and do everything they can to make sure Michigan isn't "stolen" again.

Now we have to match that intensity. Not in the spirit of grievance, but because electing a Democrat in Michigan's Senate race is important for the country we love.
