“The whole country is just so disgusted” could be an evergreen statement when you’re talking about the variety of ways the current administration is tearing up the Constitution and terrorizing its citizens. In this case, Edwin was talking about just how appalled he is about where the country is a week after Renee Good was shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis.
And while the right-wing demeans her and the administration labels her a domestic terrorist, Susan and Edwin warn that if they’re going to do this to her, they can do it to anyone.
However, there is some hope.
Edwin notes the number of people who were out protesting this weekend in the face of fear of being labeled a terrorist for simply standing up to these barbaric actions. “They will do it to anyone, but they can’t do it to everyone,” he says. “And so you know what, we’re going to take the risk and we’re going to show up, and people are showing up everywhere, everywhere, in bigger and bigger numbers.” And he believes that pressure is working because people have had it with Trump.
