2026 is no ordinary election year.

It’s a pivotal chapter in our fight to preserve our democracy in the midst of a national redistricting crisis. The scale of this moment can feel daunting, but this is what the NDRC was built for.

Donald Trump and Republican leaders have made their strategy clear: manipulate congressional maps to rig the midterms and maintain their grip on power. And they’ve succeeded in doing just that in Texas, Missouri, and North Carolina.

In the coming weeks, several states may begin mid-decade redraws to try to expand this power grab or level the playing field in response. Just last week, Florida announced a special session for the express purpose of manipulating its map.

We have our work cut out for us — what we do to prepare now can make a massive difference in whether we can stop Republicans from successfully rigging our maps. With your help, we’ll be able to do everything it takes to fight for fair maps across the country. [[link removed]]

Here’s the good news: The response to this manufactured crisis is growing louder, and it’s coming from the people. Voters in California overwhelmingly supported a redraw to counteract Texas’s gerrymander. Voters in Virginia and Maryland have shown support for taking similar responsive measures. And when thousands of voters organized in opposition to efforts to gerrymander in Indiana, a bipartisan coalition in the state senate voted it down.

The TL;DR is this:

Republicans are focused on doing everything they can to redraw congressional maps wherever they can to try to rig the outcome of the midterm elections in their favor.

And we are the only organization that exists explicitly to stop them from pulling it off.

Make a gift now to make sure we can address this redistricting crisis with the urgency and resources we need to protect the will of the people. [[link removed]]
