Dear Health Advocates,
Late last week, the House passed a 3-year extension of the enhanced premium tax credits by a 230-196 vote, with 17 Republicans joining all Democrats. It is important that we both celebrate this win and turn our attention to the Senate, where this legislation needs 60 votes to get to President Trump's desk. While it is uncertain how Leader Thune will handle this bill, it's critical that we contact senators and demand they extend the enhanced premium tax credits ASAP. You can find resources and ways to take action, including direct links to message Congress and share your story, on our Lower Health Care Costs Now campaign page. Stop the Healthcare Heist Emergency Week of Action
To that end, the Economic Security Project is continuing to host their Stop the Healthcare Heist Week of Action until January 15, with a specific focus on a vote in the Senate this week. The following actions will help us ensure our voices are heard during this crucial time: - Use social media!
- Tag your member
- Use #HealthcareHeist
-
Use graphics supplied by Economic Security Project
- Reach out to your members directly!
-
Continue to thank those who championed affordability and call out those who voted against it
- Turn your attention to the Senate
You can find the full toolkit, talking points, and graphics at this link. Please reach out to Anna Aurilio ([email protected]) with any questions.
