Trump is in Detroit today

Donald Trump is in Detroit today. He’s not here for a coney dog. Trump’s here because he’s trying to save his slim Senate majority – and he knows he needs to win Michigan to do it.

Trump’s visit today coincides with the 2026 Detroit Auto Show, but let’s be clear: Trump doesn’t care about Michigan’s auto industry. If he did, he wouldn’t have imposed reckless tariffs and said he “couldn’t care less” if auto prices rise.

Well, I couldn’t care more.

During the Great Recession, I helped save 200,000 Michigan jobs as part of President Obama’s Auto Rescue Task Force. I love this state, and I’ve spent my career fighting for Michganders.

So as Trump arrives in Detroit today, spreading lies and drawing attention to this critical race, including from his MAGA megadonors, I’m asking you to stand with me.
